streamLama support

Most streaming problems come down to YouTube settings, permissions or the network. Try the fixes below first. If you are still stuck, email codedharmony.com@gmail.com and we will reply in English.

When you email us, include: your phone model, iOS or Android version, the streamLama version (shown in Settings), whether you were on Wi-Fi or mobile data, and what you saw on screen. Please never send us your stream key.

My stream does not appear on YouTube

  1. Make sure live streaming is enabled on your channel. The first time can take up to 24 hours. See how to get your YouTube stream key.
  2. Open the stream key screen in streamLama and tap Test connection. If the test fails, copy the key again from YouTube Studio with the Copy button and paste it in.
  3. Check whether auto-start is turned off in YouTube's Live Control Room. If it is, YouTube shows a preview and waits for you to press Go live there.
  4. If YouTube Studio keeps loading and says “Set up your vertical stream to continue”, Dual stream’s vertical preview is set to Encoder, so YouTube waits for a second stream that streamLama does not send. Stop the stream, set the vertical preview to Auto or turn off Dual stream under Stream settings in the Live Control Room, then go live again. For a vertical stream, turn Dual stream off.
  5. If you reset your key in YouTube Studio, the old key stops working. Paste the new one into streamLama.

Viewers see a black screen

  • Some apps, mostly movie and TV services, block screen capture. Games almost never do.
  • On Android, if you tapped Cancel on the screen capture prompt, tap Go Live again and choose to start.
  • On Android 14 and later, if you chose to share a single app, only that app is visible. Start again and choose the entire screen to switch between apps on stream.
  • If the gameplay window is hidden in your current scene, open the scene in the editor and make the video visible.

There is no game sound or no voice

  • iPhone: turn the microphone on in the broadcast sheet when you tap Go Live. Game sound is captured automatically unless the game is muted or your phone is in silent mode for that game.
  • Android: game sound needs Android 10 or later. Some games prevent their audio from being captured; in that case only your microphone is heard.
  • Check the game and microphone volume sliders on the Live screen, and that the mic is not muted.
  • Make sure streamLama has microphone permission in your phone's settings.
  • The phone gets quiet on iPhone: while the broadcast microphone is on, iOS turns other sounds on the phone down, the same as Control Center screen recording with the mic on. Turn Microphone off in the Start Broadcast sheet, or use wired earphones.

The stream keeps dropping or buffering

  • Lower the resolution to 720p, 540p or 480p, or the frame rate to 30 fps, and keep adaptive bitrate on.
  • Move closer to your router or switch from busy public Wi-Fi to mobile data, or the other way round.
  • Keep auto-reconnect and the backup server option turned on.
  • Close downloads and video calls running in the background on the same network.

The stream stopped by itself

On iPhone, the system ends screen broadcasts if the phone runs very low on memory, gets too hot, or you stop it from the red status indicator. On Android, battery savers on some phones close background services; allow streamLama to run unrestricted in your battery settings. If the connection could not be restored within 50 seconds, streamLama ends the stream and sends a notification.

My vertical stream is not in the Shorts feed

Check that you selected the vertical orientation before going live, so the stream is 9:16. YouTube decides which live streams to show in the Shorts feed, and it only shows streams that are live right now.

Pro is not unlocked after buying

Sign in to the same Apple ID or Google account you used to buy, then use Restore Purchases in Settings. Purchases can take a minute to confirm. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.

I think someone else has my stream key

Open YouTube Studio, go to Create, Go live, then the Stream tab, and reset the key or create a new one. Paste the new key into streamLama. The old key stops working immediately.
